Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight. Do you think this is possible? Has it ever happened to you or someone you know? How true do you think this kind of love is? Were they right in getting married right away?

Love at first sight is not always true but can be true. you can't just be oh they are perfect i am not saying it can't happen but it is highly unlikely. It has never happened to anyone i know. this love can or cannot be true they may be right or they just might have the looks and be the person you will hate or never want to be with. Getting married right out of the gate what was that about why would you get married right away why would you marry someone you don't even know that well. I mean you would be like i love you then when it comes to personality they are just the worst person you could ever meet. so yeah you can go about being oh i love him or her and oh theres another one. yeah you may find someone but i really doubt that you will find a prince charming in this batch of frogs.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very possible to fall in love at first sight. This has happened to me before I think like two times, and one of the times is right now where I have been in a relationship with the person for 9 months, so I know that love at first sight is real and really can work out. One of my friends had love at first sight with a boy on the other hand, and didn't get to know him and he ended up being a jerk and never wanted to hang out with her and was mean to her, so sometimes in that case it doesn't work out well, or the way you want it to. So I think this kind of love can be very true for someone like me in my instance that I have because it can work out, but sometimes it isn't so true and doesn't work out.
ReplyDeleteI think it is possible to fall in love at first site. Love is very strong and powerful and sometimes when people meet, they just know that their the one. It has never happened to me, but I am still very young. It however I think it has happened to my mom and dad. When they were in high school, they dated and my dad did everything in his power to get her. My mom finally said yes and the rest was history. They did have some break ups and some rifts in the relationship, but in the end, they got married and had my sister and me. They didn't get married right away, but I think they are a very good match and are perfect for each other. I think their love is very true because even though they fell in love early, they waited awhile before they got married to get to know each other. I can relate to Juliet's feelings because I hate when people drag on about nothing just to tell you what they know. The nurse makes all these excuses not to tell Juliet right way. Juliet was mad and was anxious about the answer and that's what I would be too.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be possible to fall in love at first sight. But at other time i don't because if you think someone is cute but then you walk up to them and they are a jerk that can change your feelings about them. Some time i think it would work for love at first sight with some people but it depends on the people. I would rather get to know the person. But i wold like them to be cute and have a good personality. I was dating a guy for 2 years and a half. When i first saw him he was pretty cute and everything. We started to hang out and we were getting along and everything we could hang out and laugh and just be are self. We would always hang out and have fun for about the first year and and a half and then the next he started to get really obsessive. I couldn't email, text, call, or even just talk to another guy just as friends or he would freak out on me. He also would look threw my phone to read my texts and look threw my calls to see who i was talking to. Before i new it he had changed me to be like that. So i started to look threw his phone and everything like he had done to me. So i guess you shouldn't change yourself and get to know the person before you just jump in.
ReplyDeleteNo you can not fall in love in first sight because you don't really love someone that you don't know. No because you would only judge them on there looks, not what you know about them. It is not that true because you don't know the person, that well. No i think they should have gone slower, and got to know each other. That if the guys is weak, then the women have nobody to rely on. And in those times they thought the guys were the strong ones, and the women were weak. To show there hate towards the capulets, and show that some people are rude to others. She said that the nurse was really slow, and fat. She wished that she could be skinnier and go faster. Because she is wanting to know what Romeo says, to see if there getting married. Ya that would be hard to wait, to see if you were going to get married. I would be wanting to know. That would be hard to wait.

ReplyDeleteLove at first sight might be real but id imagine its hard to find. No, it has never happened to me or anyone i've ever known. Im not so positive of the stability of a "love at first sight" relationship because its probably based on looks and not the personality, and people change. So I would say its not so true but blindness of looks. In their situation I say they were right because she was on her way to marrying someone she didn't love and Juliet gave Romeo a reason to live again. I think the Friar was trying to say "If men arnt strong, what are we suppose to think of women." Juliet's character in that scene seemed to be annoyed in my opinion. She was very demanding and not so appreciative of the nurse. She was anxious to see what the nurse had heard from Romeo and so she was a bit whiney, but she had a cause to be. The nurse was annoying and liking the attention Juliet was giving her.
ReplyDeleteShakespeare had Mercutio and Romeo be so rude to the nurse just to make Romeo look better. Romeo is being mean just as he probably always was. When he sees the nurse is the messenger he remembers all about his love, Juliet, and stops the ruckus he was causing. This appears to the viewers how love can turn an evil little snobby teenager into a mature loving adult. I think that is a whole bunch of baloney. In real life Romeo only stops being nice in order to save his thing with Juliet. I really don't think Romeo will stop being the annoying troublesome person he is, just because he fell in Love. It is not really love if you can't be yourself around the other person. Although, It is probably better for Romeo this way, pretending, so he will stop his shinnanigans and actually get a life. Well a life for a short while, until he dies.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is possible to fall for someone at first sight, but not fall in love. I think falling in love takes more than a few minutes. I think it possible to know that you could eventually fall in love with someone, and want to spend the rest of your life with them at first sight. It could be possible to fall in love at first sight, but I think its not very likely to happen, or for that relationship to last as long as someone you get to know first. It hasn’t happened to anyone that I know. I think this kind of love is fun and full of energy, but after that wears off I think that it would lead to problems because you don’t know anything about the other person. I think this kind of love is left and begun with a lot of unanswered questions, and thoughts. I think that in a way that they were right for getting married right away, because of the hatred between the two families, but I think lives could have been saved if they would have waited.
ReplyDeleteI do think that first love is possible as long as the other person feels the same way. If you are the only one that feels it then it’s not love true love at all in my opinion. Also if you have to work at love like some people do then that is not love to me. There should be effort in loving each other, but not work. With Romeo and Juliet it’s kind of cheesy how they fall in love, or have love at first sight because it just doesn’t happen like that in my opinion. --- When Juliet is wanting to here the response from the nurse and the nurse just keeps postponing it, that would bother me to. I think that Juliet is a demanding person and wants to know now. I would to if someone that I loved, loved me to. I can relate to that because I have been in that situation before. Sometimes you just want to know now especially if it is dealing with love!
ReplyDeleteI do not think that it’s possible to have love at first sight. I think that when people say that they have love at first sight, I think that it’s really just that they have a physical attraction to each other and probably just think that the other person looks good. They have no clue how the other person may act or how their personalities are. I think that they were wrong and stupid to get married so fast. Like I said earlier, they barely know each other and they already think they love each other so they really don’t know what the other person is like. They are rushing things way too fast and haven’t had the time to get to know each other and think this through, so they could get married to somebody that they would not want to be with for the rest of their life.
ReplyDeleteI think it is possible to have love at first sight if you look into the other person eyes and they feel compassionate towards each other. But if you don't stay in contact with this one person it is very easy to lose that feeling. Unless you stay in contact with that person you should be able to be compatible it is wrong if you just like the person for their good looks. their cheating you and their cheating. you have to care about this person all around. they have to share interest. To sum it all up it is possible to have love at first sight but it may not always work between you too in the long run. but it may work
ReplyDeleteI think love at first sight is possible for some people and then it isnt possible for some. I mean I agree with Robert that it is really hard to say that you love a person if you do not know who they are. Then I have to agree with Chelsee because I have been in that situation before where I have thought that the person I loved when I first saw them would loved me when they first saw me. But fact is that love at first sight does not always happen. And if it does then it does, some people do actually fall in love at first sight, but most of the time when people say that they are just attracted to the physical appearance just like Robert said. I mean love at first sight has different meanings for different people. But the love at first sight you usually see in the movies.... not like how it is in the real world, but hey that is just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think that love at first sight is kinda real but not real. To me people don't really understand what love is. They think that they are in love but aren't. They fall for the person and they get hurt because they didn't catch them. But I also think that people can fall in love at first sight. Some thing just clicks. They want to be with each other and want to be together. But i also don't believe in it. I don't think that Romeo and Juliet shouldn't have gotten married. But that is how i was raised. Plus he should have asked permission from her dad to marry her. They probably should have dated for a little while then have been engaged for a little while then decide to get married. Then be married for a little bit and then decide to have children. But this might just be the way i was raised or i am just supper conservative. But this what i think.
ReplyDeleteI think that love at first can’t happen because they may look good on the outside but be a real jerk on the inside. If you believe in that you probably are only seeing how they looks not who they are on the inside. Especially if its someone you really don’t know. If people married the first person they thought was the one divorce rates would probably be a lot higher than they are now. But you never now if love at first sight is possible until it happens to you. If it is possible it defiantly doesn’t happen to everybody. But ever now and than you hear of people claiming to have love at first sight, they end up getting married and live happy. If love at first sight is possible I think is is a long shot.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to read everyone's comments and to see the different views on love at first sight. I don't believe in love at first sight. You can definitely be attracted to someone the first time you see them, but to actually fall in love with them at that instant seems a little insane to me. It's like this: A few months ago I went and tried on prom dresses and absolutely fell in love with one right away. I didn't end up getting it and now I just look back at it and think, yeah it's pretty but I don't have that same feeling about it now as I did before. You can be attracted to someone and have strong feelings right away, but chances are, you're probably just feeling that way because you're meeting someone new and they look good. It could end up that nothing happens between the two of you except for that interest you experience when you see them the first time. Then again, you might end up falling for them later on down the road. But either way, can you honestly say that you fell in love with that person right away? I don't think so. That's why I feel like everything between Romeo and Juliet is just a bit ridiculous. I doesn't make any sense at all to me that Romeo could be so in love with one girl and then all of a sudden be in awe when he's sees Juliet. And then wanting to get married the next day? Crazy. It's cheesy, everything is happening to fast between Romeo and Juliet, and nothing would never happen like this in reality.

ReplyDeleteI do think that it could be possible to have love at first sight if it is the right person. I think that it can happen but i think it happens very rarely. It is not very likely to see a person and know that they are the one that you love from one look at the person you need to get to know them. If it does happen i bet that you feel like nothing else matters and all that you need is you and that one other person. It would be the strangest thing because it was the first time you ever met this person that you were looking at and you might not have ever even talked to them and you know that they are the one. So yes I do believe in love at first sight but I think that it happens on occasion and does not happen to every person. Those few people are lucky to have found each other if it does work out!
ReplyDeleteI really dont think that it is possible to fall in love at first sight because you know nothing of the person. There will be lust and desire but you will not have emotional feelings for them. It is a movie and a book and they can do whatever they want to make it interesting but in real life i really doubt it is possible. I imagine it has happened somewhere in the world but i have never experienced it or seen it. Romeo and Juliet are young and dont really know what they want because they say they wanna be married and they barely know each other. I mean any guy in his rite mind would not marry some random girl just by their looks. But Shakespeare is one of the greatest writers of all time so i guess he know what to do and say to get people drawn in.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to the Question “Do i Believe in Love at First sight?” Its honestly actually iffy with me. I believe that you can be attracted and drawn to a person right away but I don’t Believe it is LOVE at first sight. Because I believe for love to happen you have to really know them and know there personality really well. Like Tony and Mariah and also Romeo and Juliet I think that is all fairy Tale ending. They saw each other and they were attracted to there LOOK not there “personality!” So No I do not believe in love at first sight, but i do believe in Drawn at first sight. Out of all my friends No one i know have had Love at first sight, almost everyone i know takes it slow and goes into it because they are interested in the other person, and getting TO KNOW THEM so then they can BE IN LOVE. Then lastly I believe if someone says they have “Love at First Sight” I don’t believe it is very true, because they don’t truly know the person!
ReplyDeleteI think that love at first sight could be possible. It all depends on what the situation is i guess. It's Never happened to me and I don't think any one else in my class is in a relationship because of it. I think Romeo's love for Juliet is very true. You can tell by the way the speak to each other that they are madly in love. I think they are rushing it a little bit, but hey it is the story.I think the reason they had them be rude to her was to add some comedy to the huge love story, and when the second act is so serious with love it is kind of nice to have some comic relief. I think the reason be hind the friers comment was to tell Romeo to think about what he is doing and what the conciquences might bring.
ReplyDeleteLove at first sight is just really unrealistic but could happen. Love at first sight is based on what you see on the outside. When someone says it was love at first sight its probably because the person was attractive. When these two people meet and get to know each other and start to get to know their quirks and weird habits they might reconsider being in love. Getting married right away like Romeo and Juliet is just a really bad idea. You have no idea how the person acts or what their weird habits are. Romeo and Juliet should get to know each other and date for at least a year maybe. Then if they still have the same feeling go ahead and get married, but i doubt they will still love each other as much.

But in the end it most likely won't work out for the two lovers.
I think love at first site doesn't exist cause how do you know you love someone just by looking at them. I think you need to get to know someone before you can actually fall in love. Because if you fall in love at first site and get married before getting to know each other then you might get annoyed with them and realize you don't really love them and it may end up in divorce. I think that two people should get to know each other before they get married and if they still like each other the same way after then they can get married. But i just don't think love at first site exists.

ReplyDeleteI don't think love at first site is true. You have to know the person you have to relate to the person. I know you can like some one at first site, but to love some one you have to truly know the person. Because if you move to fast you could end up no liking the person, because people change later one. Loving some one and getting married means staying with that person for ever untill death. Don't set your self up for something that isn't real. When Romeo and Juliet first saw each other and say they loved each other I really don’t think it seemed true.

I think love at first sight is kinda true because maybe you find the right person to fall in love with. but then again its not always true to fall in love at first sight. I think you can't married someone after a day or two of knowing them cause it kinda wrong. no one will incourage you to not marry. I think if they marry it might bring a end to the fued between montague and the cuapulets. I hope to see another fight between the to family's. the hatred between the to family is still there. Romeo tell the nurse to juliet about the marriage. the friar think the marriage is to soon and romeo think that this marriage is the most important thing.
